Prophet Muhammad (saw) was chosen as the final Messenger from Allah (swt). He was created to bring the ‘Qur’an’ the final testament to the people and through his way and teachings, become an example forever. Muslims and Non-Muslims have asked the question that if Islam is the true path of belief and following Prophet Muhammad (saw) is the only acceptable way, then what happened to the followers of the previous Prophets.

the previous books were revealed to specific nations according to their times and situations. The followers of all the previous Prophets were on the true path as was revealed. Therefore those nations who existed at the time of the previous Prophets and followed their teachings will go to Paradise inshallah. Allah (swt) sent his Prophets with divine teachings, and upon certain points revealed Books of revelations. However as time passed these books of guidance were lost or changed by the followers as they eventually began to err from the rightly guided path, finding themselves either destroyed or completely lost. Allah (swt) then sent Prophet Muhammad (saw) to bring the final guidance and complete revelation. Allah (swt) has Infinite wisdom and therefore plans in a way that only He understands. Allah (swt) knew that the people now had sufficient knowledge and had been sufficiently prepared to receive the Final Criterion

First we have nursery when our learning and understanding are at an elementary stage. We then progress to Primary school and Secondary as we are developing and learning in more detail. Eventually there is higher education of College and University. This comparison shows how education and knowledge needs to be in accordance with our level of understanding and development. for example that we cannot be expected to do a PhD degree after only receiving Primary school education.

Allah (swt) makes it clear that when Prophet Muhammad (saw) brought the revelations of the Qur’an, this was now accepted as the only true path of guidance. As authentic hadith explains that all the people of previous books were the rightly guided until they were not replaced by the Qur’an. Those followers now had to leave behind their previous beliefs and accept the Qur’an and Sunnah. They would be non-believers if they chose to continue with their previous faith. Prophet Muhammad (saw) once said to Umar Farooq (ra) that even if Prophet Moses – Musa (as) was alive in this time he would also have to follow the Qur’an. Similarly the term ‘Ahl –e- Kitaab’ meaning the People of the book, is often ms-understood as the people of all books. Some Muslims even believe that we can continue to marry people as long as they are followers of a revealed book. This is a gross mis-conception.

‘O believers, if you obey a party of those who received the scripture they make you disbelievers after your belief‘. (3,100)

The Qur’an and Sunnah only distinguishes between believers in Islam and Non-believers in Islam. The faith of these non-believers whether they are idolaters, Christians, Hindus or Jews is of no consequence. They are non-believers – Kafir and away from the guidance. The followers of the Gospel, Torah etc may have been the rightly guided when their books were revealed but have long since been changed and been lost, the point is that even if those books still existed in their original form they have now been replaced with the Final revelation – Al-Qur’an.

So we need to remove this very common mis-conception of who are the ‘people of the book’. They are the followers of the Final and complete revelation, therefore we need to understand the ayat – verse from Surah Al-Imran.

'The religion with Allah is Islam, those who previously received the book differed after knowledge came to them, through transgression among themselves'.

(Surah Ali - Imran 3,19)

I agree to everything you stated,quite beautifully.. except..That the beauty of QURAN is the RELlIGIOUS TOLERANCE.

Quran was revealed to A SOCITEIS OF PAGANS...who used to bring their IDOLS to have a PILGRIMAGE at Kabah.

Still ..it embraces all who BELIEVE IN ONE GOD...gracefully..!

Surah An-Nisa 4:171

يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡڪِتَـٰبِ لَا تَغۡلُواْ فِى دِينِڪُمۡ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَقَّ‌ۚ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ وَڪَلِمَتُهُ ۥۤ أَلۡقَٮٰهَآ إِلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ وَرُوحٌ۬ مِّنۡهُ‌ۖ فَـَٔامِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ‌ۖ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ ثَلَـٰثَةٌ‌ۚ ٱنتَهُواْ خَيۡرً۬ا لَّڪُمۡ‌ۚ إِنَّمَا ٱللَّهُ إِلَـٰهٌ۬ وَٲحِدٌ۬‌ۖ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُ ۥۤ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُ ۥ وَلَدٌ۬‌ۘ لَّهُ ۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَڪِيلاً۬

O PEOPLE OF SCRIPTURE! DO NOT EXAGGERETE IN YOUR RELIGION nor utter aught concerning Allah save 'THE TRUTH'. The MESSIAH, JESUS SON OF MARY, 'was' only a MESSENGER OF ALLAH, and His WORD which He conveyed unto Mary, and a SPIRIT from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease! (it is) better for you! - Allah is only ONE God. FAR IS IT REMOVED FROM HIS TRANSCENDENT MAJESTY THAT HE SHOULD HAVE A SON. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.

بیشک جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور جو لوگ یہودی
ہوئے اور ستارہ پرست اور نصارٰی (عیسائی) اور آتش پرست اور جو مشرک ہوئے، یقیناً اﷲ قیامت کے دن ان (سب) کے درمیان فیصلہ فرما دے گا۔ بیشک اﷲ ہر چیز کا مشاہدہ فرما رہا ہے

ENGLISH:

Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for Allah is witness of all things.

The danger in following such Muslim leaders (not the Leaders of 'Islam' ) is...they make our 'hearts' hard..and make us predudice ..and we start 'possessing the religion of Islam'...which is Allah's Religion..not our's

The main reason why we Muslims hate eachother and followers of other religions are LEADERS.lol!

Addition: Muslims are calling eachother KAFIR..haha Is such JUDGEMENT allowed in Islam?)

Islam is what Quran says..Not what any Mullah, Leader, Scholar, etc...APPROVE...or deliver FATWAH FOR...it's a MESSAGE for 'ordinary people' to understand and follow.

The authenticity lies in the WORDS of QURAN...which is BURHAAN..an 'evidence'..We need Quran because we live in socities..if we choose to live in an Island with no people ..even then the Law of nature will not change and the rules of Quran will remain the same..but it will become much easier to follow it without 'some' leaders...lol!

I love this site..because it has no MEDIUM which can hinder the approach of a human to human. There's no one to stop you from what you want to say...this is the 'real' way to 'see' things.We can choose to be modest, aggressive, rational, irrational..there's always a check and a balance...:)

I'll share my experience with other sites (secterian/non-secterian) to make a point ..later Inshallah!

(Surah Al Ana'am)

6:148 The idol worshipers say, "Had GOD willed, we would not practice idolatry, nor would our parents, nor would we prohibit anything." Thus did those before them disbelieve, until they incurred our retribution. Say, "Do you have any proven knowledge that you can show us? You follow nothing but conjecture; you only guess."

6:149 Say, "GOD possesses the most powerful argument; if He wills He can guide all of you."

6:150 Say, "Bring your witnesses who would testify that GOD has prohibited this or that." If they testify, do not testify with them. Nor shall you follow the opinions of those who reject our revelations, and those who disbelieve in the Hereafter, and those who stray away from their Lord.

6:151 Say, "Come let me tell you what your Lord has really prohibited for you: You shall not set up idols besides Him. You shall honor your parents. You shall not kill your children from fear of poverty - we provide for you and for them. You shall not commit gross sins, obvious or hidden. You shall not kill - GOD has made life sacred - except in the course of justice. These are His commandments to you, that you may understand."

6:152 You shall not touch the orphans' money except in the most righteous manner, until they reach maturity. You shall give full weight and full measure when you trade, equitably. We do not burden any soul beyond its means. You shall be absolutely just when you bear witness, even against your relatives. You shall fulfill your covenant with GOD. These are His commandments to you, that you may take heed.

6:153 This is My path - a straight one. You shall follow it, and do not follow any other paths, lest they divert you from His path. These are His commandments to you, that you may be saved.

6:154 And we gave Moses the scripture, complete with the best commandments, and detailing everything, and a beacon and mercy, that they may believe in meeting their Lord.

6:155 This too is a blessed scripture that we have revealed; you shall follow it and lead a righteous life, that you may attain mercy.

6:156 Now you can no longer say, "The scripture was sent down to two groups before us, and we were unaware of their teachings."

6:157 Nor can you say, "If only a scripture could come down to us, we would be better guided than they." A proven scripture has now come to you from your Lord, and a beacon, and a mercy. Now, who is more evil than one who rejects these proofs from GOD, and disregards them? We will commit those who disregard our proofs to the worst retribution for their heedlessness.

6:158 Are they waiting for the angels to come to them, or your Lord, or some physical manifestations of your Lord? The day this happens, no soul will benefit from believing if it did not believe before that, and did not reap the benefits of belief by leading a righteous life.* Say, "Keep on waiting; we too are waiting."

6:159 Those who divide themselves into sects do not belong with you. Their judgment rests with GOD, then He will inform them of everything they had done.

6:160 Whoever does a righteous work receives the reward for ten, and the one who commits a sin is requited for only one. No one suffers the slightest injustice.

6:161 Say, "My Lord has guided me in a straight path - the perfect religion of Abraham, monotheism. He never was an idol worshiper."

6:162 Say, "My Contact Prayers (Salat), my worship practices, my life and my death, are all devoted absolutely to GOD alone, the Lord of the universe.

6:163 "He has no partner. This is what I am commanded to believe, and I am the first to submit."

6:164 Say, "Shall I seek other than GOD as a lord, when He is the Lord of all things? No soul benefits except from its own works, and none bears the burden of another. Ultimately, you return to your Lord, then He informs you regarding all your disputes."

6:165 He is the One who made you inheritors of the earth, and He raised some of you above others in rank, in order to test you in accordance with what He has given you. Surely, your Lord is efficient in enforcing retribution, and He is Forgiver, Most Merciful.
