Nicaragua

Nicaragua has been inhabited by humans for at least 6,000 years; ancient, preserved footprints can be seen at Managua.

At the end of the 15th century, the area was home to cultures related to the Mayans. They were organized into small kingdoms and the society was dominated by agriculture.
