Nanga Parbat Unclimbed Route: Will it ever be climbed?

There is a possible route to the summit, first identified by
Karl Herrligkofer, way back in 1964. He names it as the "Middle Pillar" route. It starts from the uppper Bazhin glacier on the Rupal face, leading upto the Silver Pleateau.
However, more than forty years have passed, but the route is yet to be attempted, let alone climbed.
From my personal observation from the Herrligkofer base camp in 1989 and study of the map published in the '30s by germans, the route appears to be far more dangerous than any other route that has been attempted on Nanga Parbat or any other mountain in the world. Was Herligkoffer right in identifying it as a "possible" line? Similarly, climbers, every now and then, coming up with "Magic" lines and "Ultimate" climbs need to be aware of this truly and seriously frightening "route"!!!
I am hoping for opinions from ace climbers and other experts.
