My wife and I have attempted and failed at iddah several times (at least 5). Most of the failures have come as a result of my giving in to her sexual provocations. She says because she does not want the divorce she does this, yet fails to adhere out of my wishes for divorce. I am not supposed to abandon her, yet this behavior of hers continues and it has gotten beyond the point of my patience with adhearnce to the fixed period for iddah.

How many times is an iddah invoked upon a wife; whereas it is no longer even valid to do so any more? She does not take this for the value that it bears out of selfishness. I, on the other hand, have tried to be obedient and practice self-restraint in order to complete this period. I have gotten to the point of not permitting her to visit me anymore.
