My son singed with the National Guard in his Senior year in high school. He did one weekend a month service for a year and then went down to Fort Benning for Basic. He is being discharged under article 11 uncharacterized discharge from the army and should be out in 2 weeks. Does this absolve him of his National Guard duty in CT and is he eligible for any Military Benefits for the year worth of service that he did in the military. Will this discharge hurt him in any way?
