Cleft chin

My son and his "ex-girlfriend" just had a baby together this past July. The baby has a cleft chin and dimples in his checks. My son, nor my husband or I have these traits. The ex-girlfriend or her biological parents do not have these traits either. Is it possible that this baby could still be biologically my sons or should I be concerned?

Children with cleft chins don't have to have a parent with a cleft chin, that is simple genetics. One of the great great granfathers of a child might have had it, and it resurfaced many many generations later. It really is all genetics. Some people have blue eyes while niether parents have the trait, it is simply a gene that has been skipped and is now resurfacing!
