My question is:
I am a descendant of Alexander George Cumming of Altyre Scotland.
As a descendant of the Cumming Clan who have a great historical legacy in Scotland commencing from the days of Sir John Comyn who was William the Conqueror's right hand man.
The Cumming Clan played a huge role in Scottish history and yet, I, as a descendant cannot attain "right of abode" in the United Kingdom.
Whereas people from Commonwealth countries have over the years obtained British citizenship.
Please explain why this status quo exists and in fact I have grounds for appeal.
