My mother's name is Kiyoko Kaneko. Her oldest brother was Tadashi, the Naval hero. My grandfather was an officer of great importance according to her stories to me when I was younger.

My mother is no longer with me and she said she was named after her father. I thought she said Kiyosh, but I find nothing under that name.

Does anyone know if Tadashi is the son of Kentaro?

I've never met any of my Japanese relatives. I know of 2 cousins from my generstion, Kenji and Miho.

The last relative of my mother's generation is Yuki Arai. She was ill several years ago when I last heard of news on her. Her family ran a Bridal Shop in Tokyo or Nagano.

If anyone knows anything, I'd like to know a little more of my family history. Half of me is Japanese, after all.
