My gggg grandfather was named Samuel Abraham - he was born in Cheshire in 1725 but the Abraham's had been there since the 1500s I believe. How can this be if all Jews were expelled in 1290 untill 1656 & why would anyone keep a Jewish name if there was a risk to them in doing so?
