My dog Rocky is 2 yrs. old. The environment he was raised in was not healthy. He witnessed physical and verbal abuse and was never socialized. I now have Rocky, I introduced him to daily exercise and I tried socialization. With his aggressive behavior towards other dogs and most people, when I leave the apartment with him I am stressed that we may come into close contact with a neighbor and cause a scene or worse. I was referred to a trianing club that accepts up to sometimes 30 dogs and their owners. Would this type of situation be beneficial? I love Rocky and it saddens me that he may never change. If I can't afford to have someone train him, is it possible that he would respond more positive with someone other than me due to what we have been thru together? Or are his behaviors set? The vet has said when I'm not in the room he is a lot better. That he more likely protecting me. If he is acting this way to protect me, he's stressed too : (
