My daughter saw a beached pilot whale at Ocean City, MD today. The water there this time of year is approximately 40 degrees. Anyone else hear about this? Was he lost??

I was there and have pictures. The whale was beached and not alive. 23,000 lb adult pilot. They were going to try to conduct an autopsy to see what causes the death, but due to the storm and the unusual high tide, the waves carried him back to the ocean. Was sad but amazing to see.

Looks like it was a humpback whale. I heard that they followed it for a mile and brought it out of the ocean for research and to save any troubles from happening.
