My Sir name is Waddington and I have researched the name and have found different Coats of Arms associated with the name.
I have successfully traced my ancestry to Lancashire and possibly Yorkshire but I cannot determine the correct shield.
I did this years ago and the shield was: three footless birds separated by a broken chevron. At the top of the shield was a Knight's Helmet. There was also decoration around the shield.
Recently I have found that the shield shows three Fleur de Lis with a straight, horizontla separation. Two at the top and one at the bottom.
I then found another shield with the same pattern of Fleur de Lis and in the Horizontal separation the three footless birds appeared. There was a Royal crown at the top of this shield.
Can anyone help me determine which is the correct coat of arms for the name Waddington?
