My GGGfather was Edward Norton born around 1833 he married Ursule Lucie Labatte in Penetanguishe,Ontario in 1855. I have no trace of him before the marriage in 1855. They had a son in 1861 Joseph James Henry Norton and in 1864 a daughter in 1864 that died 3 months after her birth.I read that John Norton war in the battle of 1812 so was Michel Labatte. I'm trying to find a connection. On Ursule and Edward marriage transcrip there is a reference to Alexander Anwaten and Joseph Anwaten indian born on Christian Island.
