The Rosslyn chapel was built too late and the builder the Catholic head of the St Clair (some say Sinclair) family actually testified against the Templars along with his son (his families testimony was found to be false by the King and those accused knights were released)...
Sinclair was not, and the chapel never was anything to do with Templarism, quite the opposite in fact. This chapel also has many "now claimed as Masonic" symbols and even “the green man” a welsh pagan symbol predating Christianity...it is just a spectacular family built chapel but it is wonderful in an architectural sense, truely a hotchpotch of symbols and the reader gets to apply specific relevance at their peril... They also have a whacky Gnostic version of Templars claiming to be "Scottish Knight Templars" (skt) and if viewed as allied to the Masonic Scottish york rite of freemasonry...unfortunately their claim has no credence or substance as Mackey didnt found the masonic scottish rite till the late 1880's...but the Sinclairs are definitely not linked or recognised by the True Orders of any Templar Orders, Sinclair's were the backstabbing enemies of the Templar's (a unfortunately savage and brtual description, but historically proven accurate assessment), do some quick research on "St Clair investment scam" to see how the name is being abused by not only the masons but others.

The crux and indesputable fact that freemasons consistently forget to show you is :

"The Declaration of the Sacred Congregation; affirms that membership in Masonic Associations remain forbidden by the Church and the Faithful who enrol in them are in a state of grave sin, and may not receive Holy Communion or the Sacraments. it confirms to the faithful that membership in a Masonic Lodge is unlawful. It warns them such membership is incompatible with the Catholic Faith."

Since Freemasonry became more than a guild in the 1700’s the Catholic Church has set to separate itself from these misguided souls, Today's Pope and going back to the 1700's, another eight Popes have specifically proclaimed freemasonry is incompatible with Christianity.

Benedict XIV, Providas, May 18, 1751, Pius VII, Ecclesiam, Sept. 13, 1821, Leo XIII [XII], Quo graviora, March 13, 1825, Pius VIII, May 21, 1829, Gregory XVI, Mirari, Aug. 15, 1832, Pius IX, Qui pluribus, Nov. 9, 1846, Quibus quantisque malis, April 20, 1849, Quanta cura, Dec. 8, 1864, Multiplices inter, Sept. 25, 1865, Apostolicae Sedis, Oct. 12, 1869, Esti multa, Nov. 21, 1873, Leo XIII, Esti nos, Feb. 15, 1882, Humanum genus, April 20, 1884 , Ab Apostolici, Oct. 15, 1890, Praeclara, June 20, 1894, Annum ingressi, March 18, 1902 and so on ..right up to todays Pope on the On 26th of November 1983 the now Pope Benedict XV1 issued a Declaration on Masonic Associations (cf AAS LXXVI (1984),300.Page 3
But this Document is most often quoted as the document not allowing Mason’s in the Church....
On 26th of November 1983 the now Pope Benedict XV1 issued a "Declaration on Masonic Associations" (cf AAS LXXVI (1984),300.Page 3

I suppose you have to expect false history on a site that allows wiki as its primary source for contributers.

Do real research and you will see the truth of my posts.
