Correction to the article in respect to the founding of Oakland University. Matilda had a close relationship with Michigan State University and gave the acreage and funds to that College to build Oakland University on the MeadowBrook property. She did not give the money to the State of Michigan.
Second reference to Mr John Dodge owning Meadowbrook Farm before he and Matilda were married is not true. On December 10th, 1907 John and Matilda were married and a year later they purchesed the 320-acre farm called Meadow Brook Farm together.
