My grandmother (Nora McHugh Cauley) was Frank's sister. She was the one non-show business sibling.She ended up in Michigan (married to Edward Cauley of Homestead, PA) and died in childbirth at a relatively young age. My mother, Kathryn Cauley (Cooper), was one of her 5 daughters.

We met Frank during WW II when he came to Detroit on a War Bond Tour, with Cagney, et al (I was 9 in 1944). Thereafter I visited with him in N. Michigan (he was on a stage tour in Traverse City), in Detroit when he was appearing at the Schubert Theatre, at my home in Wyandotte, MI, and in Ann Arbor while I was in college (he was in a Steinbeck "Readings" Production at Hill Auditorium), and I last visited him as an adult, with my son, at his home in Connecticut shortly before his death.
