Just bought 2, 8 month old angus heifers. Have really good grass padocks, was wanting to know how much hay (use lucerne) I should be giving them a day. 2% of their bodyweight is what I figured.

i have raised calves before and the amount of hay you should give them depends on there weight. Although, i think one half to 3/4 of a 75 pound square bale should feed them.
you might have to give them a whole square bale in the winter.
