Jean Shepherd mentions in one of his stories: not the Red Ryder one, about his father entering a newspaper contest sponsored by Nehi Soft Drink. It apparently was part of an ad that appeared in the local paper. You would fill out the questions and mail them in. The person who got all of the questions correct was the one who won the Grand Prize. I would like to know if Nehi Soft Drink ever did do a contest like this, probably in the Thirties or the Forties and what if any, was the Grand Prize. How interesting that Nehi merged with or was bought out by Royal Crown Cola. This soft drink was very popular in the South and did use movie stars to promote it. Joan Crawford was shown in a newspaper illustration, serving Royal Crown Cola to WWII servicemen. This was before she married a Pepsi Cola CEO.
