Anunnaki

I've been reading Sitchin's Lost Book of Enki, pretty fascinating I must say. But there's something I can't quite put my finger on, the Shar, or Nibiru cycle aroun the sun.
If it's 3,600 earth years then is the notion of 'time' for the Annunaki different than ours? do they perceive time differently? faster than we do?
I mean so many Shars pass by so quickly in sitchin's book and compared to the story's progression, it doesn't make sense.
Can anyone explain please?
