Is this old fire extinguisher worth anything at all?

Similar 2 researcher10, I have an old fire extinguisher. I have given the description below. But my concern is not so much about its monetary value. I am a member of Clutterers Anonymous (Yes, I am serious). This fire extinguisher has been sitting around since my parents bought it in 1968. That IS the date on the tag. So: Is it worth keeping? If so, how do I re-charge it? If not, how do I dispose of it?
Brand: Wards Power-Kraft
Maker: Montgomery Wards (via contractor)
Type: dry chemical
Class: not shown
Date: 20 July 1968
Charge Indicator: "recharge"
Safety seal: broken

O.K., so if it is a dry-chem type, is it safe to put out in the regular trash?
