If yes then what is the ratio of probability that life exists in Milky Way Galaxy? How many estimated habitable earth-like planets do we have in our own galaxy alone? But I don't think we can live there. Our body is designed by evolution suitable to live only in our own planet. eventhough earth-like planets exist there will always be a different signatures of elements or substances being formed. Get my point? Our only chance is to find planets with intelligent beings that can threat our planets for an envasion or worst.

Recent additions to the hundreds, or was it thousands, of exoplanets in our own constellation prove that life could exist. Not that it does, or that it is intelligent life. Look at the millions of years there was no intelligent life here on Earth! Some still wonder if there is any here.

What is possible is that there is life on other planets, so far away that communicating with an insignificant ball of lint like Earth would hardly seem worth the bother. At least from their point of view. We are a backward, out of the way, planet that just happens to be in the right place at the wrong time. After all, this mix of water, land and suitable atmosphere finally changed enough to spawn a bipedal species with a brain capacity large enough to make and use tools, build machines, invent music, count on it's fingers and split the atom.

If I were them I would keep a weary eye on us and if there was a slight chance we might pollute the local environment...take us out without so much as a batting of an eye lash.
There is more crap flying around our own planet right now it is a wonder that we can fit another communication or spy satellite up there with crashing into something and cause a train reaction.

No, I would avoid planet Earth like the plague. Those guys out there are pretty smart!

All it takes is to be in the right place going aroud a suitable "sun". There are millions. We exist in just a "sweet spot". It took a couple million years for the conditions to get to a habitable solution and then luck would have it the right ingredients had it mix in just the right "soup". Eventually, Elvis swiveled his hips, Mozart put pen to paper and George, Paul, John and Ringo started a band. Not in that order, but you get the idea.

There is a zone in every star system. Not too close and not too far from that star. In that zone, if there is a planet rife with volcanic action, salty seas, heavy atmosphere, the proper land masses=life will develop. It just will. Maybe not for a hundred million years...but, life will happen. Will it be multi-celled, music loving or will it be a reptile the size of a transit bus? Does it matter? I don't think so. Life happens, it just does.

It's up to us to care. We seem obsessed with the idea that we were created by a guy named God. We are supposed to be in awe and bow our heads to pray to this master mechanic. It or should I say He is supposed to be something special. Did he do this Big Bang thing? I don't know. Maybe. Or, did He or She or It make it all possible...create DNA and sprinkle it across the cosmos to see what happens. Maybe somewhere intelligent life actually exists where "people" aren't trying to murder each other over a philosophy or a fable that a group of beings got together to answer the questions that everyone asked. Man, that is the place I want to be. No republicans, no democrats...everybody just happy to see the star come up and go down.

We don't need to go anywhere but here. Too far away to GO anywhere, at least for now. Lets fix the mess we made of our home. Stop the bickering and roll up our collective sleeves to help each other. Stop worrying about who lives out there, just accept it. Yea, other life exists way out there. No big deal. Religion has been a crutch we no longer need.
Next. Life...live it.

It does exist. We have only start to use some of the latest technology available and in our local (Milky Way) area they have found 400 planets within the "sweet spot" of a near by star systems that have oxygen/nitrogen atmospheres along with water in significant quantities to support life.

Can we determine if life or intelligent life is on these planets? No. They are too far away. Will we ever know? Maybe.

Remember our own history, here on Earth? Millions of years before apes, humans and then civilization to occur? And from then, how long until we unleashed radio? Twenty thousand years or longer it took us to say, "Hello".

We are no longer "speculating blindly".

Your logic is a bit "off".

If there are an infinite number of constellations in an infinite universe there is only a percentage of those which will have planets within the distance from a star where life could occur. However, that would not "end" because the universe is an infinite volume. In an infinite volume there are an infinite number of suitable life possible planets.Variables other than being too close or too far from a star won't matter because being in this "sweet zone" causes the environment on said planets to evolve or time into a life-producing warm evolutionary incubation chamber.

We will never know. Travel through time and space, as we currently technologically are hamstrung can not be proven as fact. Sciences and mathematics provide some indication with concrete proof (artifact, communication or visit by a representative of whom I speak) has never occurred. Oh there are those who cite UFO sightings, true. Has any alien presented us with music, a novel or a video of "home"? No.

Until then...I will rely on the math. Yes, there is life out there...

Pretty much.

Not an accident so much as a series of design improvements over a very ong time to get here at this point in time on this planet which exerts its influence as to the air we breathe and the carbon life forms we have become.

Unique? Hmmm, I think not. we stand on two legs, it is a good design. The problems are the pressure on the spine and over time calcium forms on the bone structures and causes pain and lose of function. Brain capacity is good, visual abilities are excellent...

I wish to apologize if what I have said in regards to God or anyones religious beliefs. However, God has nothing to do with the existence of life elsewhere in the universe.

We used to pray to the sun in earlier civilizations.

Then we prayed to images and idols to give us the hope and strength of our convictions, to explain the unknown and hold the "spirits" at bay.

Science stepped in to chase away the boogyman, tell us our future through DNA and our past through the same links.

Science has provided us with a window, ever sharpening and evolving to expand our knowledge. Daily we are brought new information to accept or seek further clarification and confirmation. We depend on those in fields of specific knowledge and expertise beyond our own knowledge to trust that as certified knowledge specific to a single object of discussion or study.

Taken as such, faith in science is much like faith in God (or religion for that matter). I, personally put a lot more faith in science than God when it comes to life existing elsewhere in this universe. Take as many coins as there are stars, throw them up in the air and let them far to earth. Those face up, indicate life...those face down, indicate not life other than Earth.
If one coin lands face up, there is life out there, somewhere. That is all I need to know.

Please; even the most prolific scientists are beginning to have their doubts about the age of the universe particularly now that it seems that there will be no implosion due to the fact that matter in space is speeding up or out with increased velocity. this is not indicative of the big bang theory as prescribed by physics teachers at worried state schools.
Einstien was wrong, Galileo was wrong, sir Isaac neuton was wrong and I'm wrong. Untill all scientists freely admit this science will never be correct. What is real is unreal and what exists is not really there. You can blame schroedinger and his cohorts for that and now string theory has come about it puts more strain on the authenticity of the 13.7 billion year age that we were so quick to jump on. The fact is that there has always been a universe which is a very accurate term to use when including the multiverse, and there always will be even if something incredible happens and all matter is destroyed. If that happens we won't be able to meassure it but should a big bang occur it would do so from within the universe.
To hold onto scientific facts as though they were mathematical facts (even if they be mathematical in nature) is to miss the constant flow of data that changes our view of the Univers and therefor science on a daily basis.
And on a personal note you have contradicted yourself. You are using the fact that an infinate number of universes isn't certain to prove or to urge the reader to see your point that the universe is 13.7 billion years old, which in itself is only a theory. Please stop being small and embrace everything.
Have a good life my friend and thank you for giving me the chance to sound off like Rodney McKay. lol

I would just like to correct one point; there is much truth in the bible. There are also some terrible contradictions and some shocking lies. I just thought I believe in Jesus the man. Look at my profile picture. Was Jesus any different to the Buddha, Ghandi, The Prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him), Dr Martin Luther King, Tich Nhatt Hann? No. Did he feed the 5000? He probably fed 5 but we have to contend with nearly 2000 years of Catholic dogmatic rule and thus what is true or false in the bible becomes something of a sore point as we can see that it was shamelessly written with the expressed purpose of maintaining and growing the now holy Roman Empire. Like Punk Music it never died it evolved.

I think there is life on another planet somewhere in the universe. NASA has made a discovery on water on the moon and on Mars. I think there is a greater possiblity there is life on another planet because the universe has been found to expand. There is a force pulling matter outward into space. The universe is not collapsing as was originally thought.

I often think of the scripture in the Bible as just symbolic metaphor. Events depicted in the Bible may not have necessarily taken place exactly as is written in this book. To say that the scriptures in the Bible were inspired by God does imply that there may be a little room for intrepretation.

There is full of life on exoplanets too. There is full life in the Sun.

There is a high probability that life does exist on other planets than Earth. Mars could also have had life on it, but that isn't for sure. A planet has to meet certain conditions to be able to support life; the main condition is that the planet has to lie in the habitable zone.
People now are looking for a way to build a colony in Mars,
but is it posible.... no one knows. Yes we could build green houses and try to plant green plants, but that will take forever. Mars does have carbon dioxide and all we have to do to create or make oxygen is for us to plant plantes and build green houses. Is it a good idea? In my perspective it's not, but in others perspective it is. After all it is just an opinion. Overall, people think that ther WAS life in other planets, because of the water that they found in the Moon and the frozen water in Mars. " There is life on other planets" is just a theory.

I was talking about the existence of p h y s i c a l life.
There is no physical life in any other planet than Tellus(in our solar system).
Science explores physical phenomena, that´s why it can´t detect life on etheric, emotional, mental or causal plains.
People living in others planets have no physical body, their lowest body is an etheric aggregate.
Today´s science has not yet found the etheric world,so there can´t be any scientifical proof of "higher life".

Space Ship Math

The Dec 6th 2010 Edition of TIME magazine carried an interview with a well-known futurist who presumably has more knowledgeable resources at his disposal than we lesser mortals and he noted, very interestingly that our own Milky Way Galaxy – consisting of approximately 500 Billion ie 500 000 000 000 stars - has probably got in its own right between 1000 and 1 million technologically advanced civilisations (TACs).

NASA has written as recently as 2009 that it thinks that there are, out there, some 500 Billion Galaxies in the Universe.

As the resultant extrapolation of even 1000 TACs per Galaxy results in a totally mind-blowing situation (5 Trillion TACs) let's come down to earth (forgive the imagery) and say that there is only 1 TAC per Galaxy, then there are still 500 000 000 000 TECHNICALLY ADVANCED CIVILISATIONS strolling around space.

Now this type of data is probably subject to the normal type of Bell Curve situation – and as there is no reason to think that we are better than average (and many reasons to think that we are worse than average with our propensity to try and destroy ourselves), this means that at the top end of the scale there are 50 Billion - No, I still can't get my head round that so I'll divide it by another million – there are 50 000 000 astronomically (literally) more advanced civilisations than ourselves.

Will someone out there now understand that the photo I took totally by chance of a UFO on 9/11/2010 - which looked like a Flying Saucer and acted like a Flying Saucer - was with a 99.99999% probability a Spacecraft from Outer Space ie either from within our own Milky Way or elsewhere?

But if you accept that it was a Spacecraft, or that UFO's are more of a probability than a mere possibility, then you also have to accept the fact that Alien (I hate the term as it's demeaning to superior beings ) life exists. I just hope like hell they prove to be a better species than we humans – mind you, it's very doubtful that they could be much worse.

There was the most alleged crash in 1947 at Roswell New Mexico Area 51. The government tried to cover it up by saying that it was a weather balloon. I also heard on the radio a couple of months ago these scientists talking about how there is life on other planets by then after that we never heard anything about that matter again. Here is my reasoning
Facts
1- We are Humans, this is our race. we are the smartest animal creature known on this planet. ever heard the saying, theres always a bigger fish? well beleive that, theres no such thing as the biggest fish i beleive. I do not beleive that of all the life out there that there is, us humans on planet earth are the smartest, i beleive were nowhere even remotely slightly close to the smartest. i beleive theres aliens out there with brains a million times the size of ours. so keep in mind that those aliens could already be here and us not know it. who knows? they could be invisible......they could have kidnapped you last time......then brainwashed you and you not remember a thing. were humans, a tiny small small small part of life that probably exhists out there. these aliens are probably a million times smarter, and then theres and alien a million times smarter than that alien..and then that alien.....and it just keeps going on.
FACTS

1- We live on one out of a billion trillion gizilion thousand million infinate amount of planets. Fact- keep this in mind.

2- We live on one out of a billion trillion gizilion thousand million infinate amount of galaxies/solar systems.

3- how in the world could we be the only planet with life? scientists say that perhaps life on earth could have been started with a meteroite will oxygen...carbon...water...ice amino acids.....ect the neccisary ingredients for life hit earth....... i guarenttee if thats how it went...... a meteorite just like it has hit another planet out there some-where i mean theres only infinate planets and meteroites.

to sum this all up....we are humans.......US HUMANS think were smart....and we are when compared to other things but i can guarantee theres aliens out there that are 1,000,000,000 times smarter, so they are probably already here, or atleast they would know of our existence.........likewise, theres also aliens out there that are 1,000,000,000 times dumber....remember we live on one of infinate planets......anything you can think of is probably out there some where.

There is no way that earth is the only living planet
There is no way that humans are the smartest animal creature
There is no way that earth is the oldest living planet
There is no way that Earth is the newest living planet
And even if earth was the only living planet at the moment, that would change because life WOULD START somewhere else.

Actually, scientists have come up with an organism in set lab conditions that builds its DNA, RNA cell membranes, etc out of arsenic. Yes, it builds all of this out of a substance that is deadly to any other living creature on this planet. Interesting, huh? So if something this crazy has already occured (or conjured up) on our own planet...then whose to say that life cant be anywhere else in this infinate universe, with unimaginable possibilities? =) By the by, Mars has gypsum on its planet. (only found in areas of standing water). Yeahh, and mind you that in the Mediterranean, gypsum is found side by side with ancient fossils. Dude, where theres water, there is life. If water is a substance that is found everywhere in the universe, then technically, if a planet is in a habitable zone, with water, then I would guess there would be a 90% chance of life. Its possible. Just its human nature to want to be the superior beings; the one and only's. I think it's safe to say that it's time for a reality check
