My Dad was not stationed there during that period. He was stationed there from 1962 to 1965 though. He was an NCO assigned to the base suuply. We lived in Sarrebourg at that time. That area was one of the best places I ever lived, even though I was just a boy back then. I had two brothers who attended high school at Verdun. Myself and another brother were in grade school on the base. We moved to Phalsburg from Loring AFB in Maine. We used to eat dinner at the NCO club with my Dad, and really liked going to movies at the base theater. We moved to Elsworth AFB in South Dakota in 1965.

Hi Gene,
I'm Philippe from Sarrebourg.
I work as an Air Traffic Controller on Phalsbourg Air Base and I have a blog on the former american base.
I have few contacts and names on it if you want to look at.
I'm also interested in any documents to put in the blog. Just to share the history of that base.
See you
Philippe

Hi Phil, sorry I have no momentous from Phalsbourg. Seven (7) of us from the 32nd TRS have a reunion two weeks ago in Houston. Five of the guys worked in the squadron supply. The OIC was Lt. John Brackett. The other enlisted were, James P. Myrtle, Paul Kolb, Robert Bernier, Rodney Fralick, Billy Parker who was the illustrator in Intel. Ask your Dad if he knew any of those troops.

I was stationed at phalsbourg 58 thru 60 when they transfered me to Laon afb to play football for the wing commander. However my allegiance was to the phalsbourg falcons and I never played football again. they were not too happy with me. I was an A2C with the personal equipment section, working for a Master Sergeant Smith. I would appreciate very much if you could help me locate two people that were very special to me. Their names are Robert and Edith kingsley. Also a fellow that was the assistant football coach named Hutchinson with a wife named Maryann who I believe was not in good health. There was also a fellow that worked in the photo section that spoke with a soft accent and took some photos of me in the flight helmets. I pulled photos of the main gate at phalsbourg and experienced such an overpowering surge of emotions that I had to have a glass of cabernet. I left the air force went over to the army and became a Green Beret, off to Viet-Nam and eventually became an artillery officer.

Hello Phillipe,
My name is Andrew Sugarick and I was stationed at Phalsbour AFB from 1958 thru 1960. I am trying to get up with Gene as he was working in the orderly room and might have knowledge of the present location of some close friends that I am trying to contact. Any assistance that you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated. I would add that the time I spent at Phalsbourg was one of the more memorable and personally enriching moments in my lifetime of experiences.
Thank you, respectfully
Andrew Sugarick
