Yes definately it is. I am 66 years old and have belong to the church all my life. My Grandfather was a minister. We believe that Jesus Christ is the true son of God the Father and with the Holy Spirit form the Trinity.

According to Luther's Small Catechism (LCMS-1991), it reads:"The holy Christian church is the communion of saints, the total number of those who believe in Christ. All believers in Christ, but only believers, are members of the church ('invisible church').The 'visible church' is the whole number of those who use the Word of GOD and profess the christian faith, but among whom, beside the true Christians, there are also unbelievers." The LCMS is made up of member congregations. Congregations and ordained clergy are voting members of the LCMS. The Lutheran "Church"--Missouri Synod, is it a "Church"? I guess it's how a person defines the word "church".
