Is it safe to assume that the majority of those intrepid and inspired Apollo astronauts that left Earth Orbit to either land on or circle the moon were of Scots-Irish and Scottish descent? For I know for fact that both Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were of Scottish descent on their respective Father's sides. So if you ask me the fact that they each were part Scottish/Scots-Irish was altogether fitting, appropriate and symbolic, especially considering that those that came from either the Scots-Irish, Irish and Scottish races were the greatest, toughest, most undaunted and most indefatigable pioneers in American history.

For they were at the cutting edge of that majestic and momentous spectacle known as the Western movement that began in earnest during the middle 18th century and greatly accelerated once America won its independence from Great Britain in 1783 and continued all throughout the entire 19th century. For the Scots-Irish and the Scottish were America's premier, most aggressive pioneers, these genuine, cutting edge trailblazers within the context of American, and World, exploration! So therefore it would make sense that the majority of the Apollo astronauts that went to the Moon were the off-spring of either one of those two restless, viscerally inspired and extremely adventurous races, the Scots-Irish and the Scottish, for such symbolic significance cannot be downplayed!
