Is it possible for a Jewel Cichlid and a Covict to breed? I heard this is very rare considering Jewel's are African and Convicts are New World...I have a fry of approximately 40-50 babies all around 1 inch long. The pet store informed me the male was a Jewel, and the female is obviously a covict without a doubt. They could have been wrong, but I would really like to know. I also would appreciate some suggestions on what to do with them. I would never consider euthenizing them, but they are crowding the tank and pet stores have been saying they won't buy them or even except them as donations. Thanks!
