The question of his citizenship is valid because his father was not a citizen. Obama is NOT a natural citizen. This requires that both parents be Americans. He is NATURALIZED which is a different thing altogether which is why he has not allowed the long form of his birth certificate to be publicized. His mother registered the birth in Hawaii but it was also registered in Kenya. Yes, he is a citizen but he has dual citizenship.

the fact of his grandfathers citizenship is not relevant. It is the citizenship of the parents that is the factor here. I understand defending the man but do so with relevant facts.

This issue is interesting because if it can be proved that he held the office of the president illegally...and he might be, presidents are required to be natural citizens not naturalized and they are specifically forbidden to have dual citizenship, then all the legislation passed during his presidency is null and void.

The question of obamas'citizenship would not be as questionable if it weren't for the fact that he was born of political activists and people like that are constantly gaming the system in one way or another. It is not inconceivable that for one reason or another Barry was born in Kenya when his mother and grand parents had intended for the birth to be in Hawaii. The grandparents, who were politically aware may very well have been disappointed about the foreign birth and decided to place a birth announcement in the Hawaiian newspaper just to cover later claims of American birth! I am not an expert on birth records, but claims have been made that the paper supplied by obama is not a full proof legal birth certificate. However , common sense tells me that if he was born in a Hawaiian hospital there should be some hospital records to prove it! Unfortunately, it's too late, he's been allowed to move into the White House and his "anti-american" actions and his preference for denigration of America proves to me he is not a REAL AMERICAN!

You are correct in thinking that the certificate supplied to the media was not the full document, it was the short form birth certificate commonly used to get a driver's license or passport. The short form doesn't list the nationality of the parents just their address and job title (at least mine lists those)THe long form BC would list his fathers nationality and has yet to be seen.

the question is not that he isn't an American, he is, his mother is American so he is American but his father was NOT American and had never applied for citizenship not was the marriage recorded in the States which would automatically make him a citizens.

What does it all mean? Well, if Dad isn't a citizen then under the law, while the child IS a citizen, he/she is a NATURALIZED citizen and there fore in eligible for the office of president the same way Arnold Schwarzenegger is not eligible for the presidency (thank the Lord)although because he is NOW a naturalized citizen...his CHILDREN would be eligible.
the first person related to Barak who is qualified to be president are his daughters.

I would like to heap hot coals on the heads of you right wing conspiracy buffs. (the Biblical reference is intentional) Past problems with how to intrepret the Constitution led to the passage of laws that cleared up the confusion. To wit:

Currently, Title 8 of the U.S. Code fills in the gaps left by the Constitution. Section 1401 defines the following as people who are "citizens of the United States at birth:"

* Anyone born inside the United States *
* Any Indian or Eskimo born in the United States, provided being a citizen of the U.S. does not impair the person's status as a citizen of the tribe
* Any one born outside the United States, both of whose parents are citizens of the U.S., as long as one parent has lived in the U.S.
* Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year and the other parent is a U.S. national
* Any one born in a U.S. possession, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year
* Any one found in the U.S. under the age of five, whose parentage cannot be determined, as long as proof of non-citizenship is not provided by age 21
* Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years (with military and diplomatic service included in this time)
* A final, historical condition: a person born before 5/24/1934 of an alien father and a U.S. citizen mother who has lived in the U.S.

* There is an exception in the law — the person must be "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States. This would exempt the child of a diplomat, for example, from this provision.

Anyone falling into these categories is considered natural-born, and is eligible to run for President or Vice President. These provisions allow the children of military families to be considered natural-born, for example.

I think that you have a well thought out statement.I don't think they paid enough attention, and with the problems with people in the states trying to sway our ways,I think that who becomes a important part of system should be naturalized completely.

Even if he is a natural born citizen or not doesn't matter! To be a real American you must exhibit certain loyalties to the greatest nation on Earth , in other words you must be pro-american. where as, if you detest your countrys'value system, if you consider your country evil, and you hate the idea of your own countrys'exceptionalism, then you are not an American, what's more, why the hell would you want to be related to a nation you despise!

Right wing conspiracy buffs....try this on for size, see how it fits in with your left wing utopian crap..

what if a conservative republican president refused to release his long form birth certificate or his college records...would YOU be interested? would YOU be wondering? how large would the out cry be?
the left made a really big deal of Bush's driving record, as if THAT is relevant to presidential eligibility. They made his lack of public speaking ability a big issue.

there are always things that the other side questions or doesn't like. The citizenship issue wouldn't be as big a deal as it is for us if we felt that Obungles actually LIKED this country. The only thing he likes about America is the cash flow and he's making damn sure who ever comes net doesn't have one.

If he was a US citizen, I wouldn't give a shit. You right wing conspiracy buffs look for any and all reasons to sling mud at him. Like he consorts with terrorists...or he's a Muslim and he is secretly against the US...don't get all self righteous about this latest crap that the Republicans are obsessing on. There is plenty of history with you people and this kind of nonsense.

The question of his citizenship is NOT valid.

And don't talk about not having a cash flow. The last republican administration made damn sure there wasn't one for OBAMA. He was left with a ridiculous mess to deal with.. but that too is his fault, right?

Play it off somewhere else, sister.
