Most historians apply the term 'feudalism' to the social structure of medieval Europe exclusively. The term semi-feudal is used to refer to similar societies in other parts of the world, such as Japan.

However, strong parallels have been drawn between European feudalism and the social structures of numerous other societies, including the Antebellum South.

Would the historical acceptance of a feudalistic society have had any effects on the thinking of southern plantation owners during the birth of America? I recognize that your thinking may well be just your opinion, but I would like to hear it.
