Most historians apply the term 'feudalism' to the social structure of medieval Europe exclusively. The term semi-feudal is used to refer to similar societies in other parts of the world, such as Japan.

Would the historical acceptance of a feudalistic society have had any effects on the thinking of southern plantation owners during the birth of America? I recognize that your thinking may well be just your opinion, but I would like to hear it.

However, strong parallels have been drawn between European feudalism and the social structures of numerous other societies, including the Antebellum South.
