Well, by skin color, yes, but Clinton was hailed by the media as the first black president I think because he played the saxophone

I'm not sure where you could look that up...you could try Limbaugh. I'm sure he archived it somewhere

Yes, Obama is the first african american president because the other president are white and that is how White House got its name, but it is going to turn to Black House. Also he is half white. This is called being racists too.

Er...I thought it was the White House because it was painted white which, back when it was first built, was a sign of prosperity because paint was expensive and keeping it up was time consuming and also expensive especially for a HOUSE (average dwelling).

white is also symbolic of purity, innocence, and hope.

naming the building the White House was not linked to racism but rather to prosperity, pride, and hope. THe greatest symbolism in the name comes not from the word 'white' but from the word 'house'.

the leader of the free world lives in a house, not a castle, not a palace, not a compound....a house, just like any average American.

change the name to Black House if you like, I don't care just don't change it to ______ Palace or anything like that.

From where I stand, that's a given. This country is in an uproar and lots of hard working, intelligent people are stepping up and trying to shake the rest of the country awake.

We are in a war on two fronts. On one side there is apathy and laziness. On the other side there is agenda and anti Americanism.
At times I get overwhelmed by the task before all of us but I throw my shoulders back and keep trudging forward as do many many others.

I suppose it would be ordinary to be flattered by your offer but I am an uncommon woman. I don't shack up with anyone, it's beneath my dignity, I'm sure you understand. As for the marriage proposal...
my attitude might be cute and funny as reading material but living with it is...er...challenging. In short, I'm a mouthy broad who carries a gun and keeps a framed copy of the Declaration of Independence over her bed. Freedom fighters make great friends, but you wouldn't want to live with one. I'm best enjoyed from a distance, for most.

I've separated this reply because I have another question specifically for you though we might get in trouble for the conversation...

I am aware of what your name stands for. For many years I felt that concept was wildly wrong. Recently I have done a lot of research into prophecy, ancient, possibly lost civilizations, Egyptian civilization(think pyramids and Pharaohs) and lost knowledge. I have come across some interesting things about race that seems to coincide what I've observed happening in the world today in startling ways.
I would like to talk to you about what I've learned and what you believe but I don't know this is the correct forum for such a discussion.
Do you have a more...convivial forum available in this electronic world?

Hey Cherish,

You're thinking too small. This isn't about Muslims taking over the world, its about communism and the control of that vanishing resource...oil.

the American economy and middle class is being destroyed so that we will be priced out of consuming oil. This is why they keep yakking about America being the biggest consumer of oil on the planet. Of course we are, we are the most technologically and socially advanced country on the planet. The Communists think this is unfair, that everyone should be equally backward...equality at the lowest economic and social level...that defines communism

the Muslims and Christians are being set up to got to war. Both sides are being provoked into violence. bin Laden is NOT a Muslim, he is a psychotic killer who wraps himself in the cloak of religion. The Christians have the same idiots on their side.

if our states are successful in breaking the new law, we will have begun to change things back but we must be careful that the equally corrupt forces that were part of the Bushjr admin are not voted back into power.

Next thing we know we wont have any, and then were will America be? We'll end up just like those other 3rd world countries. You've seen the lifes they live...I don't really want to do that! I'm listening Cherish.

You're 15? Wow, you go girl! I wish I were this aware when I was your age. I wish A LOT of us were this aware, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess.

You want to know what you can do? Ask questions and demand answers then check those answers against facts. If the answers they gave you were wrong, tell them so and then give them the right answer.
If you can't find facts to back up the answers you get, come here and ask me or James...we'll find them for you or tell you where you can find them yourself.

You are trapped in a system that takes away your freedom to learn what ever interests you, Cherish. Its called public education and its NOT good so go beyond what they tell you in school and find out for yourself.
I know it must be overwhelming to a young person to consider the idea that they have to take control of their own lives, their own knowledge, at such a young age but, that's how it is, so, be strong and do it.

I'll tell you a secret...I never graduated high school. I was a 'bad kid' and did all the bad kid things. I made it to the tenth grade and dropped out.
Betcha didn't see that coming.
My point is not that you should do anything like that but that you consider me smart and understandable...I am....but I made myself this way by reading and questioning everything I read then going in search of information to back up the questions.

I own over two thousand books on everything from ancient philosophy to modern politics to astrophysics. I read fiction too, mostly hard core scifi and historical mystery. I actually DONATE to my library as much as I check things out.
A friend once commented on my library saying, if he were to judge who I am from what I read, he would surmise that I am a schizophrenic with paranoid tendencies and a romantic bent, or a renaissance woman.

I have a 17 year old daughter who lives her life this way. She's sharp as a tack, good in school, questions everything and is a real pain the the a** to her teachers. She also seeks knowledge outside the school. She's very interested in Constitutional Law. That interest started when she questioned one of her left wing social studies teacher and went looking for the correct answers on her own.

be brave Cherish and be bold. Go out looking for what you find interesting. They aren't teaching you everything. They aren't even teaching you a small part of what there is in this world.

you can do it

I do question my teachers...A LOT! It frustrates me though because I don't get answers, I get a "go to the office!" and a week in ISS. My mother always tells me that I shouldn't be so argumenative, but when a teacher says something that you don't agree with, or find offensive, or you know that what they stated is wrong; then I think you should have the right to argue. I wish that my mother would be as rebelious to the system as I am, because truthfully, the reason I often don't find the right answers from others is the fact that I'm deathly afraid of her! Lol. I think the reason why my teachers always seem to hate me is BECAUSE I don't give up when I know something is politically in-correct or even morally in-correct! They see that I have wits and try to tear me down piece by peice because of this! Well, I'm here to tell them that I will NOT allow them or the government to tie me down and limit me to my RIGHTFUL knowledge!

Thank-you for the encouragement and advice :) I really do appreciate it. Trust me, I will fight the "Man" and become more logically advanced.

I've been thinking a lot about becoming a Debat teacher, or something bigger...I just don't know what I can do with my knowledge and the knowledge I shall receive in the many years to come.

Thank-You, from the pit of my soul,

Cherish Faith

Great googlie mooglies I'm basking in the praise, rolling like a smitten puppy on the floor with my tongue lolling out...

by the way, this carpet tastes like demon feet, don't ask how I know.

Anyway I would like to make a suggestion to you about a future career...

consider teaching.
You bemoan the lack of good teachers, so, become one. You seem to have some patience, which is a requirement, and a good moral background which is helpful when dealing with the little rogues.
I have been a sort of teacher for many years. I once taught horses, then riders and now I run an informal homework group for both my daughter and my son (he is ten).

When I first started this little group which we call Azyxxi (ah-ZEEK-see) which is Phoenician for 'one who sees far' (we got this name from a computer program used in hospitals for correlation of knowledge)I was surprised to learn how shallow the knowledge and skills to find knowledge were among my childrens' peers. Using the local library, the internet and lots of discussion, I have changed that. It feels good and the kids love me, especially the teenagers who give me far more credit than I deserve. They did the work, I only showed them the way to do it. Our GPA, combined, is 3.956. We are all going to college.
at the moment, my son's friends(led most enthusiastically by my son) are trying to blow up the kitchen recreating the Iceland volcano....for extra credit. The dog is hiding under my chair which means they must be close.

it's fun and if you find the right place to teach at and the right age group to teach, you will be very happy.

It's like you're reading my head! I have actually thought of becoming a proffesor. I like to think of myself as an overly suffecient mature young-adult. So, I really do not like teenagers! They are too focused on drama and not their work or future! I think I would be better off teaching a college Science class...or Language...or both. I'm pretty interested in Science, I find it fascinating, but sadly; I don't know much. Language on the other hand is my peak of near perfection. I have trouble sometimes in punctuation(as you can probably already see lol), but I am an excellent wrighter.

Cherish,
'Allowing' might be too strong a word...but, its easier to clean a kitchen than it is to clean a bedroom covered in goop. I learned that lesson the hard way when he made a hydrogen peroxide/ baking soda bomb last spring.
(several stuffed animals were sacrificed in the process)
at the moment he's trying to get me to agree that building a hang glider rig in combination with his roller blades is important for his scientific understanding. I've heard him discussing getting some older boy to tow this contraption with an ATV...I've begun mapping routes to the emergency room and stock piling good splint material. (I carefully placed one of my driving helmets where he would find it)
When you have creative, intelligent, determined children..."allowing" things really isn't the issue...keeping up with current events is.
by the way, the volcano was a success and even the dog survived.

If you like science and language I suggest the field of linguistics. It is fascinating. I have a link to a language professor at Harvard somewhere. I'll look around for it for you. He's running a survey at the moment, maybe you'd like to participate. His site has many articles about his work and how it relates to the world. I came across it while studying the evolution of language from Sumeria to today.

Wow! He's only ten?! When I was ten I was more worried about how to tie my shoes and being afraid of the dark! You are surely gifted with an EXTREMELY intelligent child! I don't think my own mother realizes how smart I am...maybe that's why she treats me as if I'm five and don't understand anything that has to do with the grownup world. I tried for YEARS to try and convience her that I have a pretty good grasp of the adult world, but she doesn't fall for it. I've also considered that it may have something to do with the fact that I'm her "baby" and she doesn't want me to grow up so she isn't allowing herself to realize that I am indeed growing up. I have four sisters(2 step 2 half) and everyone except Shanel and I have dropped out of school and gotten themselves pregnant. I would imagine my mother would be far more proud of me than them, for staying in school and not keeping the human race alive. Yea, I do stupid things sometimes, but hell I'm a teenage girl, if I didn't try new things and rebel against my parents I would be worried lol.

That would be amazing...except I don't think I can get into Harvard. My math is rather terrible, always has been. But, yes I would love for you to send me the link so I can atleast look into it. I gotta shoot for the stars :)

Cherish,
Harvard is for losers who need money and influence to smooth the way for children who cannot think for themselves. Sure, some good minds come out of the school, but not enough to justify the tuition. I'll get you a list of small relatively cheap colleges that have excellent academics as well as a certain prestige. Tack a few extraneous letters after your last name and it won't matter where you got em babe.
As for your Mom, look, I cannot describe to you what its like to have a kid and watch that kid grow up. Its the MOST heartbreaking terrifying thing you will ever do. If they could stuff that kind of terror into a movie, you'd run screaming from the theater with your newly white hair standing on end. Cut her some slack.
There was a song long ago and far away that said...

teach your parents well, their children's hell will slowly go by and keep them in your dreams, the ones they fix, the ones you'll know by,
don't you ever ask them why, if they told you you would cry, just look at them and sigh...AND KNOW THEY LOVE YOU
and you of tender years, can't know the fears that your elders grew by and so please help them with your youth, they seek the truth before they can die...

its okay to be young and stupid...that's called freedom. Just don't be cruel and don't be arrogant and know that, all us old folks were once young and stupid too. We're just too embarrassed to tell you the stories about lighting our own farts on fire or kissing the WRONG guy and liking it or getting to screwed up on cheap wine and stuff we shouldn't have been trying and doing things that would turn our own parents hair white.
The trick, Cherish, is too better than Mom. So, cross your legs (cause that's the only way to be certain you WON'T be pushing a baby stroller) and screw on that thinking cap. Your math ain't good? No problem. Go out for English and language, Your school ain't teaching ya what ya need and want to know? Go to the library and ask one of those nice old ladies where to find...what ever book you are looking for.
Succeeding might mean leaving your old friends behind. It might mean being a dork when everyone else is cool. Yeah, my kid is ten and I had him tested. His estimated potential IQ is around 150 or higher.(private school next year, I quit smoking and have been saving for a year to pay for it) God granted me a gift like few others and he's a WICKED dork and I'll beat the shit out of the first ass that picks on him. Straight up.
He knows that so he's pretty good about kicking ass on his own terms. Good for him.
He's already told me I get the proto type of the flying car that he's going to build. HEHEHEHE!Perks of being Mom.

Well, yes, for the most part he is...Mulatto is one phrase that comes to mind as he did have a black African father and a white mother, but that word comes with much ire amongst some that live in the Southern States of America as it's origin was a word that defined colonial mixing with slaves...not like the dreaded "N" word that I myself loath, I still find the word some what racial. My point being, it does not matter that Obama is black white green of Barney purple...he is just a man and the color of his skin has no sway with me in my opinions concerning his ability to effectively administrate the office of the President of the United States, he can not! Bush was a horrible war mongering devil and traitor...his skin color being different wouldn't have changed any of that...

In the first place, it is rather amazing that you would pick apart someone's grammar when your own is absolutely horrible.

Secondly, this is a blog sight not a cell phone where we all send each other abbreviated words...

Why not get yourself a dictionary and learn the meaning the and proper spelling of those "fancy" words...

The question is, if they could do it in 1841 why can you 'not' do it in 2010?

Try to work on these things or just use the spell check on your computer at least...

Dear Idiot

the term great googlie mooglies was something my GRAND mother used to say, You are NOT the first generation to speak and television is a poor medium for learning anything, You might want to try reading...I'm not sure who phineas and ferb are but I suspect nickelodeon is involved...just so you know, a Nickelodeon was a type of mobile entertainment medium that went from town to town. You could get in to see the show for a nickle...which is a small round silver thing that used to be worth 5 cents...I'm not certain how much info you DON'T have so, stop me when you reach some kind of midway point to understanding.

I couldn't care less what the current slang is. To me, you sound like an idiot, which is okay because at your age, I sounded like an idiot too.

I suspect it is NOT that I use big words, because I generally don't, but I can if you like because I actually own a giant dictionary that weighs as much as a small child...it has its own stand and everything....in case you DON'T know, that would be the Oxford UNabridged Dictionary...mine was published in the eighties so I have to occasionally look up the spelling of words like....c u l8tr...that's a joke
where was I...no, I don't use BIG words, I just have a high capacity for string lots of words together in between punctuation which, in my trade (I am a writer), is called...skill. Believe me ...I have mad skills.

Now...do you have an opinion on the president or politics in general or are u jst wstng spc?
