Iran has a right as a sovereign nation to develop any weapons it requires for it's national defense. As an American, I do not view a nuclear Iran as a desireable prospect, but we must not forget that Iran is a part of a region in conflict. It is hypocracy for the nuclear armed nations of the world to impose constraints on Iran's national defense.

A nuclear Iran could also help keep Israel in check. The Israelis would be less likely to repeat brutal disproportionate attacks like in Gaza and Lebanon if Iran threatens reprisals.

Not a chance. What is Iran going to do, tell Israel to back off or face nuclear annihilation? Don't forget, Israel has nukes also. At best Iran's nuclear arsenal will deter Israel from attacking Iran, not Gaza or Lebanon.

If Iran gets nuclear weapons, it's just a matter of time until they fall into the hands of terrorists.
