I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried to make non-payment of child support a criminal offense, and if so how did it fair in a vote? I think that if this occured that alot more people would definitely be pressed to make that payment which would take a large burden off of our welfare departments, freeing up money for other things. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Most U.S. states allows for incarceration of a person who does not pay his or her child support.

Yes, but here's my problem. He will pay until they attatch it, then make a few payments and quit. Then not pay for almost a year. He has his family hiding him and saying he dosen't live there. Yet when its time for a reduction hearing he tells them he hasn't moved in 5 years. I just am at my wits end because the money is greatly needed. Because he lives in another state the only one i have to say that he works under the table is his niece, and she's on my side because she's not getting court ordered support either. Any suggestions?
