Im am looking for information on my grandfather in-law..i just recently have been able to find one existing picture that is dated august 2/1946 followed by the RCN abreviation. When i saw the picture i finally realized who my husband looks like. My husband never met his grandfather or grandmother, as his father was raised in an orphanage. I am trying to seek information on them, does anybody know where i may be able to find more information?

Well, to be honest, there are too many possible starting points to suggest, given only the information you provided. For example: was he from Canada? (RCN could be Royal Canadian Navy?) What sort of details are in the picture? Is it a military photo? What does the uniform look like? Where was it taken?
