If annihilationism is true, then I see a possible problem. It would seem almost certain from the Bible that the devil is indeed tormented forever and ever in the lake of fire. But if the wages of sin is death, and that death is a literal death, why wouldn't this also apply to Satan? Why doesn't he simply die rather than suffer everlasting pain? Wouldn't the wages of sin be the same for him as for man, namely, death? I would appreciate some clarification on this matter. Thank you.
