Film rights

If a writer uses multiple sources (i.e. books, biographies, internet, interviews, newspapers) in researching a deceased person on whom the writer intends to base a bio-pic screenplay, does the writer need to get film rights to each source? Further, if there are multiple sources, must the writer get the film rights to the one and only biography, published in 1970, on the intended subject person? Thank you for any insights on this issue.
