I worked in an abusive work environment for 12 + years. As a professional courtesy, I gave a two week notice in 2004. I was fired w/in a week. I tried to get a hearing for unlawful dismissal 3 times, but the ODJFS allowed my former employer to "postpone" each hearing, & each time my former employer gave a different excuse for firing me. W/this act, my former employer got me blacklisted; I was 52 years old. Why were no eyebrows raised @ the ODJFS? Why was I denied a simple hearing, something I never got @ my former workplace? No one who knows me for a month would recognize the person concocted in my so called personnel file there. I was suicidal in 2004 from the constant abuse. I still have nightmares (2011). Have all seniors become targets @ their workplaces?
