Well I would neeed to know what you plan on using it for!
General rule of thumb is the longer the barrel,- the more accurate it is at longer ranges,so if you plan on using it for hunting, and especially fitting it with a scope, - it more closely approaches the accuracy of a rifle at long range! Now if you are going to be using it for a self defense weapon (in a house or building),-in heavy brush and lots of obsticles close toether)-,or in close quarters, and even as a "carry weapon", the shorter barrel makes it easier to handle in very tight conditions and if you are not expecting to use it much over 50-100 feet this would be quite satisfactory! You don't want to be hitting things as you swing arm in any direction,-(or get caught on something
like a holster or a tree limb) when trying to get up into firing position! Now if you are being charged by a grizzly bear os something leathal as this , - of course the further away you start shooting, the more chances you have of getting it down before it collides with you! Even though one well placed shot will do the job with this one,- it is better to allow more (trys to be) available-- He will be close enough quickly to be getting into the "short barrel" requirement anyway!

This is a very good weapon, and well made,- the most important thing of all,- is to practice and get used to it's characteristics! You don't want to be starting your education on accuracy (and handling well),- in the middle of being shot at, or about to bag a wanted animal!
