I think this MAY be part of the text from the George Nicol published version in rhyme of the three bears...it was given to me by my grandmother who says she can remember only a portion of the text but cannot remember the rest:
Once upon a time in a bygone day
there were 3 bears so the storybooks say
and they lived in the woods by a big fir tree
in a cozy little house just built for three.
the great big bear, was big and strong
his voice was gruff, and his hair was long
The middle size bear was just between
Not too fat and not too lean
The teeny weeny bear, he was so small
he hardly looked like a bear at all
In another little house, so I've been told
lived a pretty little girl with hair of gold
She romped and she danced and she sang and played
and what do you think she found one day?
IS THERE ANY CHANCE ANYONE KNOWS WHO THE AUTHOR WAS, AND WHAT WAS THE REST OF THE VERSES?
