I saw the original series in the U.S. on t.v, but when I got the videotapes years later, I was disappointed to find that scenes were missing, and gaps remained unexplained. For example, the guy who gets thrown off the train at the beginning of Ep. 1, and there's no explanation about who the older fellows are in the hotel who know Yakimov. Also, no scene about the odd shoes of Yakimov, in Ep. 1. Can someone explain why this is, and whether the original series is on the DVD, or how to get the original in some format or other?
