I remember a "Great Moments in Politics" picture from Mad. It showed a Black Panther with a machine gun sitting on a rattan chair with a southern belle. The quotation was from Strom Thurmond: "If a nuclear war leaves only one man and woman alive on the earth, I want them to be Americans!"
