I recently was willed a British 303 rifle bolt action. There are several markings on it in several areas. The stock has a half rupee India 1944 recessed in it. I know a gun smith looked at it once and it has been fired. I would like to know more about it. Would someone plese give me info on what numbers to write down etc. so I can e mail it back. I can also take a picture. I believe the numbers and letters most likely are proof numbers, just not sure.
