I purchased a Link watch and noticed that the second hand hesitates by three seconds until it jumps forward. While I was in the store waiting for my watch to be resized, I overheard an employee telling another customer that if his watch's second hand "jumps", it is time to change the battery. I do not know what type watch the man was buying. Is this "jump" normal, or should I expect to change my watch's battery soon?

Many top brand watches have this feature. When it becomes time to change the battery the seconds hand will hesitate and then jump forward.
