I own a 1909 Argetine Mauser chambered for 30-06, I have found that not all 30-06 ammo will chamber in the gun. The military ball ammo works fine, and the winchester 180 grain rounds, labeled as "30-06 Springfield, also work fine. I also have reminton ammo 150 grain, labled as 30-06, without the "Springfield" suffix, and this ammo will not chamber, the bolt will close 95% of the was but won't lock. I have an old micrometer, and I "mic" the cases, but I can't make out any difference. I could be my eyes or the old gauge. It appears there may be a headspace problem, as the only difference I could see, was the the rim on the springfield round appear to be thinner than the remington rounds.. Does any one recognize this problem???
