I once heard in a lecture in a graduate school class that there had been a study on self-fulfilling prophecy as a predictor of one's date of death. They asked people to predict when and how they would die. They followed-up every decade and found a very high rate of accuracy in people's prediction of their own date (age) and cause of death.
