Snapping turtle

I live in upstate New York and came upon a snapping turtle laying her eggs. The website says that the eggs will hatch in 9-18 weeks depending on the temperature. That would mean they could possibly hatch late Aug or September. How likely is it they would overwinter in their nest?

The eggs won't overwinter in the nest. This would kill the embryos inside. However, the baby turtles will emerge as the weather gets colder and hibernate through the winter.
