I live in northeast ohio and there have been confirmed sightings of bobcats about 15 miles away. In my woods recently there has been some scratchings I have found on three different trees. Two are on very large trees. Two nights ago my pygmy goat was attacked, I think while he was sleeping. He was tore up on his belly so bad that we had to put him down.I didn't examine too closley because I didn't want to, but he also was bleeding from his neck, had damage above both of his eyes and on the back of his head. The reason he was not dead is our dog ran off whatever was attacking him. I have been debating on if it was a bobcat or if a bobcat would do that. I know that stray dogs or coyotes are also a possibility. I have had him for four years and never had any problems like this.
