I know my Father was a keen Wolves supporter when he lived in England.
His name was Edward Bannister.
Born Oakengates ( as near as I can make out) 26th Feb 1926.
I have been told by 2 sources that when he was about 16 he was picked for the what I believed was an England team in an under age, age group.
I think I was also told that just before the war there was a northern and southern under age team, ie two selected teams for whatever reason I don't know.
Anyway, I am trying to locate where and for what team , age group he would have been selected.
It may have been a group selection only.
I have tried many times to find his name on the net in relation to the stories I have been told about his selection and have had no luck whatsoever.
I also know that no games were ever played as this was at the onset of WW2.

I live in Australia and so this makes it quite difficult to find any information

If you could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

Michael Bannister
