I have this revolver (not in very good condition) with the numbers 77 on the frame,on the trigger guard and the trigger. It is identical to the picture escept the handle is black.

The gun currently shown is a Belgian copy, not a Webley.
If your gun looks like that but has black hard rubber grips, it may be the US copy made by Forehand & Wadsworth.

In addition to an incorrect photo, there are errors in this website's descriptions: The original THE BRITISH BULL DOG model was introduced by Philip Webley & Son of Birmingham, England in 1872, and the firm did not become Webley & Scott until they merged with W & C Scott in 1897. The Garfield asassination BD was a plain Belgian copy with wooden grips, not an American F&W. All large caliber US copies were .44 Webley caliber, and the .44 Bull Dog cartridge was just a shorter and less powerful option for use in .44 Webley caliber guns. It does have black hard rubber grips.It also has BRITSH BULL-DOG on the frame.Would there be any further markings I should look for?

Some of the F&W's are marked and some are not, but never saw one with numbers on frame, trigger, and trigger guard. The F&W's have their serial number on bottom of butt and on the cylinder.

Look at rear face of the cylinder (end you load) for an ELG in an oval Belgian proofmark.
