I have recently rebuilt an allison 653 for a feed mixer truck and the customer has bolted on the pto and installed the transmission,he never made a mile in forward when it started slipping,pulled it back out and found the ring lands on the back of the pump were worn deep on the side of the pto but hardly worn on the other side,chucked the input shaft with forward drum into a lathe and found its perfictly straight,replaced the pump and now everything is fine,do you think he bolted the pto tooth to tooth to cause this abnormal wear,he thinks there was a contaminent that i installed,but wouldnt the wear be uniform around the pump
