I have read several accounts of John Garrison's life. When his wife, Swan, was killed by the Crow indians he was either helping the Dept of Colorado reach a stranded wagon Train and crossed a sacred burial ground or, because of the scarcity of beaver, he had to travel greater and greater distances to trap and trade and was off on a "business trip". I have read both accounts. I wonder which of these are closer to the truth. I am writing a paper on this event and it is due by Aug. 31st.
