Electromagnetic wave equation

I have read everywhere that traveling waves are solutions to Maxwell's wave equations in vacuum. So, I can derive the WE for Electric and Magnetic fields. This is a partial differential equation that we set equal to 0. How do we solve this for the solution, a linearly polarized harmonic plane wave?
